In the fall of 2016, each homeroom class was assigned the task of creating a book fair commercial. They were instructed to write, create, film, and star in a commercial to promote our upcoming book fair. A rubric was developed that communicated the expectations of length and quality, clarity and organization of the script, communication of information, promotion of book fair materials, and creativity. The theme of the book fair was Bookaneers/Pirates. Students had a blast with the commercials. Many students and teachers dressed up in costumes. Judges viewed all commercials that were filmed. We rewarded the top 4 classes with a Thanks A Latte party! The students increased our book fair profit over $1000 from the previous year!
