The season began with the Alma In the Zone Kick Off Competition where Cyclone Black won the Design Award, which is given to the team with the best professional design approach at the tournament.  The team then competed at the In the Zone at UAM Tournament where Cyclone Red won the Robot Skills Champion Award, which goes to the team with the highest combined autonomous programming score and driving score at the tournament.  Cyclone Red then went on to win the Robot Skills Champion Award at the Spring Robotics Open at Fayetteville. At the last competition of the season, Cyclone White swept the competition winning the Tournament Champion Award, Design Award, and Robot Skills Champion Award. The Tournament Champion Award goes to the best three-team alliance that outscored all other teams in the final elimination rounds that day. \r\n

Each of these awards qualifies all of the RHS robots to compete in the state tournament, which will be hosted at Arkansas Tech University on March 3, 2018. The team’s performance at the state tournament will determine if they are qualified to compete at the World Championship in Louisville, KY.\r\n
