Meet the Kindergarten Teachers

My name is Tracy Dunn. I graduated from Arkansas Tech University in December 1993 with my bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. I also earned my master’s degree in early childhood special education from the University of Central Arkansas in August 1997.  I worked with the Head Start program before beginning at Oakland Heights in 2003. I started the special education classroom at Oakland Heights and worked in it for five years before moving to kindergarten in 2008. I am a National Board Certified teacher. I love to watch how much my students grow from kindergarten throughout their school career. My students will forever be one of “my kids”!

My name is Janie Ellis. I graduated from Arkansas Tech University in December 2008 with my bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. I started teaching at Sequoyah Elementary in January of 2009. I moved to Oakland Heights in 2011 to teach kindergarten. The greatest thing about my job would have to be seeing the growth my students make between August and May.

My name is Courtney Hudson. I graduated from Arkansas Tech University in 2013 with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. I began my teaching career in my hometown of Russellville, Arkansas. I have taught kindergarten and first-grade at Oakland Heights and have really enjoyed both grades levels.
