RHS Forensics/Debate Team Win at State Tournament

The Russellville High School Forensics/Debate Team recently competed at the Arkansas State Tournament in Jonesboro where 13 students received 31 awards and RHS received 2nd place in Overall Sweeps.

Congratulations to the following students:

  • Tyeshia Threats: 1st place in Spoken Word, finalist in Poetry, finalist in Prose, 1st place Duo Interpretation, and Forensics Superior Award;
  • Raichyl Lesser: finalist in Poetry and finalist in Improv; 
  • Rylie Bowman: 2nd place in Poetry, 1st place Duo Interpretation, finalist Dramatic Interpretation, 2nd place Oratory, and Forensics Superior Award;
  • Stephen Baker: finalist in Oratory, 3rd place Speaker Novice IPDA, 1st place Novice IPDA, and won Debate Sweeps;
  • Marisa Davis: finalist in Duo Interpretation, 1st place Dramatic Interp, 2nd place Storytelling, Forensics Excellence Award, and finalist in Improv;
  • Kait Eastman: finalist in Duo Interpretation;
  • Keilly Andraca: finalist in POI and 3rd place Storytelling;
  • Efrain Herrate: finalist in Humorous Interpretation;
  • Christopher Andrews: Excellence Award Novice IPDA and quarterfinalist; and
  • Randal Steel: Excellence Award Varsity IPDA, 1st place Speaker Parliamentary Debate, and 1st place Parliamentary Debate.
