RUSSELLVILLE Ark. - London Elementary School is now recognized as a Model Professional Learning Community (PLC) at Work School by Solution Tree. London Elementary is one of about 600 schools and districts in the United States and Canada to achieve this honor!
This award recognizes schools showing sustained success in raising student achievement through teacher collaboration. Schools are recognized based on strict criteria, including demonstration of a commitment to PLC concepts, implementation of these concepts for at least three years, and clear evidence of improved student learning over that period. Once measurable results can be seen, the school must explain its practices, structures, and culture and submit its application for consideration by the PLC Review Committee.
London Elementary School Principal says, “The PLC process has been an amazing learning journey within our school and district. It has given our staff opportunities to directly improve teaching and learning through collaboration. It has also developed stronger relationships and trust between our teams. We have proven that this process works through innovative ways to improve learning and drive student achievement.”

Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) is the framework Russellville School District has implemented to focus on learning student by student.
PLCs are schools and districts in which educators recognize the key to improved learning for students is ongoing, job-embedded learning for the adults who serve those students. The three big ideas of a PLC call upon educators to:
1. Focus on learning.
2. Focus on collaboration.
3. Focus on results.
As a part of the PLC Network, Solution Tree has provided London Elementary with numerous resources such as a PLC coach, a support practitioner, books, and professional development opportunities. This support led London Elementary to become a PLC Model School.
