Russellville School District is proud to announce that 2026 District Teacher of the Year Mickey DuVall has been named one of the Top 5 semi-finalists for Arkansas Teacher of the Year for 2027. DuVall was recognized during a ceremony at the Governor's Mansion on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2026, where he was honored alongside other outstanding educators from across the state.

DuVall is an 8th Grade Pre-AP Algebra I teacher at Russellville Junior High School (RJHS). Throughout his career, he has earned a reputation for building meaningful relationships with students, staff, and the community.

DuVall serves as the play-by-play announcer for Cyclone Booth, working alongside River Valley Radio to showcase Russellville athletics, and is the head golf coach for the Russellville High School and has led 3 teams to state championships. He is also known as the district's Cyclone Historian, sharing his extensive knowledge and passion for the history and traditions of Russellville athletics.

“Teachers have always been the cornerstones of their communities.” Dr. Lovins said, “No one fits that description more than Mr Mickey DuVall. He is the embodiment of all things Russellville and he is so proud to be a Cyclone. We are just as proud for him to be a Cyclone. It’s an honor to work alongside him here at RSD.”
