My name is Tylee Peterson. I will be teaching 3rd grade at Oakland
Heights Elementary. I am beyond excited to begin my journey here. I recently graduated from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. I have a Bachelor's degree in education in grades K-6. Not only am I new to teaching, but I am new to the Russellville area as well! I cannot wait to get to know my students and watch them grow along with me as we take on this year together. I am confident that we will be learning a lot from one another.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with friends, playing with my dog Timber, doing arts and crafts, and babysitting. I have recently taken on a new hobby, playing softball.
I know this school year will be full of excitement and new beginnings!

My name is Kelci Cogan, and I am so excited to be teaching elementary music at Oakland Heights this year! We are going to have tons of fun this year learning and making music! I cannot wait to get to know each of my students and their families.
I am starting my 8th year of teaching and graduated with my music education degree from Arkansas Tech University in 2017. I am originally from Springdale Arkansas where I graduated from Har-Ber High School in 2011.
I currently live in Clarksville with my husband, Keaton and my two children, Oliver(7) and Presley(5). My husband and I just recently celebrated our 10 year anniversary in July.
I love reading, listening to music, playing pickleball, coffee and just enjoying time with my friends and family.
I love the ways I have been warmly welcomed and greeted here at Oakland, and I cannot wait to get this year started!

We have finished up the first two days of Kamp Kindergarten with our first group of upcoming Oakland Heights Elementary AllStar Kindergarteners! Students had so much fun getting to learn about school with some fun make and take activities! They listened to stories and learned about science/ stem boxes with our amazing science teacher, Mrs. McGahee. We had a blast on the playground too! We can’t wait to meet group 2 of our kindergarteners the next two days!

Hello! My name is Abigail Ramirez. I am new to the Russellville School District. I previously taught for two years at Ozark, but I am happy to now be a part of the Oakland Allstars!
I am very proud of my Hispanic heritage, and I’m very happy to be in a place where it is celebrated! I am currently pursuing my Master’s Degree and will be finishing this winter. I am very excited to be furthering my career in education and to be a kindergarten teacher this fall!

Kindergarten Camp is next week! We are so excited to meet our new Oakland All-Stars!

Our 4th graders painted stones to leave in the garden. We will remember them and miss them as they move on to Russellville Intermediate School!

Our fabulous music teacher, Mrs. Bell, is retiring. She has taught for 30 years with 22 years at OHE. She has impacted thousands of students in our district. Mrs. Bell is an amazing teacher and is treasured by our staff and students. We will miss her fun loving personality and great sense of humor! Thank you, Mrs. Bell for teaching, inspiring, and loving our students. You are loved and will be missed!

Our Lost and Found is full. Please have students collect lost items this week. Remaining items will be donated. Thank you!!

Mrs. Morphis had her students design t-shirts for the class. She chose Jade Madden's design! Special thanks to Janet Chandler for purchasing shirts for the class. Our teachers ordered them too!

Our 4th grade students presented their biography research projects in their Wax Museum! Students in all grade levels toured the museum and learned about contributions of famous people.

We had our last SHINE assembly of the school year! The Cyclone Band and Dance Team performed for our students! Students earned stars for showing integrity, our Capturing Kids Hearts word of the month. Students also received awards for showing character traits from our profile of an OHE student! #OHEistheplacetobe #AchievingExcellenceTogether

Congratulations to the OHE May Student of the Month, Lillian Protheroe! Lillian always has a positive attitude even when things are challenging for her. She shows respect to all of her peers and adults. She is encouraging to her classmates when they are struggling with something. Lillian is very reliable, and we can count her to make great choices and help when needed! She does a wonderful job at being an OHE All-Star on a daily basis!

Kindergarten students are learning how to represent teen numbers with 10 rods and ones. Ms. Dunn's class has been working hard to understand that teen numbers are made up of a group of 10 and some more ones. #EducateEquipEmpower
